Each region will receive $100 in the form of a scholarship to offer to a
student who is attending a college in that region. Area 2 will receive a $100 scholarship for Laramie County
Community College and a $100 scholarship for the University of Wyoming.
This amount cannot be combined and offered as a $200 scholarship to only
one of the institutions.
The WLLA treasurer will send a check, in the name of the student(s), to
the region offering the scholarship
The regional scholarship committee will be comprised of the WLLA Board
members from each region and one other person they will appoint.
The committee will have full discretion to decide the recipient of the
scholarship. The recipient can be a
GED student, a recent high school graduate, a traditional student, or a
non-traditional student. The
committee can offer the scholarship based on financial need or as a means of
motivation for a particular student.
The purpose of this scholarship is to promote lifelong learning in each
region.
PREFACE
This award may be given annually to student(s) attending the college in the
region offering the scholarship. The
scholarship does not have to be awarded each year if the Scholarship Committee
believes there is not a worthy candidate. The scholarship may be divided between/among recipients.
The scholarship budget allows up to $100 annually per region.
To be eligible, a student must plan to attend the college in the region
that is dispensing the scholarship.
